Demand planning is an SCM (Supply Chain Management) process that involves forecasting future demand for a product or service. This enables companies to better plan their production, purchasing, logistics and distribution based on forecast demand, in order to reduce costs and improve customer satisfaction. Demand planning involves analyzing market trends, consumer buying behavior, historical sales data, etc.
